50 Cent to star in cop flick freelancers"

50 Cent seems to love playing drug dealers or cops as he signs on to star in the upcoming movie Freelancers which will be produced under his Cheetah Vision production company. Details straight from Variety:

Jackson will portray the son of a slain NYPD officer who joins the force and welcomed by his father’s former partner into the ranks of his vice crime task force — and on to a team of rogue Gotham cops. Filming begins March 28 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Film was written by Phillipe Cassius.

Cheetah Visions Randall Emmett and Jackson will produce, alongside George Furla of Hedge Fund Films and EFF. “Freelancers” is the second film in a 10-picture deal announced last fall that’s backed by a $200 million fund with Lionsgate releasing the films domestically. “Setup,” the first title under the deal, recently completed principal photography with Jackson, Bruce Willis and Ryan Phillippe starring.

With all these film deals 50 should really just drop the whole rapping thing. Doesn’t seem to be suiting him anymore.
